The Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) is organizing a hands-on workshop on data formatting, QC & publishing as part of the EMODnet Biology project (phase 3), with the intention to train current and future data providers in submitting their data to the project. The main goal is to introduce our new data partners and grant-holders to how data should be formatted and quality controlled before they can be integrated into the EurOBIS database and made available through the EMODnet Biology Portal. Next to the processing and submission of recent data, the workshop will also give attention to how to deal with historical data, where the original providers can no longer explain the peculiarities of their data.
The trainers at the workshop are from VLIZ (EurOBIS-EMODnet Bio-LifeWatch Belgium), HCMR (EMODnet Bio-LifeWatch-Greece) & OGS (EMODnet Bio).
Due to limited number of spaces, we will prioritise attendance to grant holders and then data partners and other entities who show interest. If you are not part of the consortia or a grant holder but would like to attend, please contact us at bio@emodnet.eu and our team will get in touch to inform you whether this is possible or suggest other alternatives.
