Integrated Marine Information System (IMIS)

The Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) developed an online information system to provide an overview of the marine scientific landscape in Flanders. Information on publications, datasets, persons and institutes is stored in a structured manner in this system. IMIS can be used at institutional level as well as at project level.

The World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) uses IMIS to list the editors and their affiliations. A link is made between the sources in WoRMS and the literature module in IMIS. Furthermore, IMIS is used to keep track of the publications and datasets generated by the Belgian LifeWatch infrastructure.
