| Abstract |
The basic requirements of a floating control and feeding for fish-cage flotilas are discussed in this paper, including marine and functional requirements as well as governmental regulations. Based on these requirements several structures have been evaluated to cope with the large variation of operational aspects in harsh environmental conditions. It was found that the large area necessary for a slaughterhouse would require a barge-shaped construction, while for a pure control and feeding station, both a barge-shaped body and buoy would be feasible designs. Due to the large tidal range along the Norwegian coast, structures fixed to the seabed were considered less favourable. |
