Abstract
The Tertiary substratum between Ghent and Overmere (East Flanders, Belgium) consists of subhorizontal layers of Ypresian, Paniselian, Ledian and Bartonian age, which represent almost the entire Eocene, except the Bruxellian. A description of the facies and the sedimentological features of the sediments is given. A hypsometric map of the top of the Tertiary formations and a geological map of the studied area have been compiled from all available informations.
