Abstract
The Ruzizi Plain deposits show evidence of alternating savannah and semi-arid climates deduced from geomorphology (calcretes - ferricretes - stone-line), sedimentology (meandering river - braided river - sheetflood deposits), and pedology (Gley - Pseudogley - Alfisol - Calcrete palaeosoils).
