Abstract
During September 1981, male and female gametophytes and tetrasporophytes of Polysiphonia nigra were collected at Wimereux (Pas-de-Calais, France). This seems to be a rather rare species generally. Antithamnion cruciatum var. defectum has also for the first time been found in situ along the Boulonnais coast. Both taxa are described and their locality and range are reported.
