Abstract
    Two intertidal populations of the bivalve S. plana were investigated in the Gironde Estuary and in the Arcachon Basin between December 1976 and February 1978, in order to determine linear growth rates for this species. A tagging experiment and a rearing of young individuals in the laboratory were also conducted during the same period. Results of the study are given.
