Abstract
Some aspects of the composition of the assemblages inhabiting the sponge species Geodia cydonium, Agelas oroides, Petrosia ficiformis, Spongia officinalis , Ircinia fasciculata, Ircinia muscarum and Verongia aerophoba in Chalkidiki Peninsula, North Aegean Sea, are analyzed and presented by biocoenotic methods. The differences among the assemblages from an ecological point of view are also given and discussed. A list is also given presenting the 223 species inhabiting the above 7 sponge species as well as their abundance in each one of them. The species previously reported as sponge inhabitants are also mentioned.
