Description
Occurende data of polar cod Boreogadus saida (Lepechin, 1744; Gadidae; also referred to as ‘Arctic cod’) used for micro satellite analysis in High gene flow in polar cod (Boreogadus saida) from West-Svalbard and the Eurasian Basin by Maes et al 2021. A total of 171 juvenile polar cod were collected from various fjords off West-Svalbard (Billefjorden, Hornsund and Kongsfjorden), the northern Sophia Basin and the Eurasian Basin of the Arctic Ocean, was analysed using nine DNA microsatellite loci. more

Sampling was conducted using a SUIT or bottom trawl (BT) with the RVs Helmer Hansen (HH), Heincke (HE) and Polarstern (PS) during four expeditions between 2012 and 2015 (Boetius 2013; Mark 2013; Peeken 2016;
Offshore regions and fjords of Svalbard were sampled. This includes Billefjorden and Hornsund and Kongsfjorden fjords. In the Eurasian Basin, samples were collected in the Amundsen and Nansen Basin.
