Description
Socio economic data on the impacts of an oil spill in Kilindini Habour, Mombasa, Kenya was gathered using questionnaire and key informant interview. The main social impacts included reduced fins catches, lower income, skin infections and marital conflicts. Recommendations included the need to establish a community rapid response unit to monitor cases of marine pollution.
