Furthermore some destruction methods for organic phosphate esters were studied. Also the phosphorous content of plankton samples, caught with a 50 and 300µm net was measured.During JONSDAP 1973 a sampling program was executed. Three cruises were carried out between September 3 and November 2. For the intervals of 28 days (Sept. 5-Oct. 3 and October 3-31) between the cruises, a phosphorus balance was calculated. To mak a mass balance it is necessary to know the advective water transport during the two periods. These were computed starting from salinity distributions and river discharge values.
