Abstract
    During a revision of the early Givetian rhynchonellids from western North America that have been assigned to Eliorhynchus castanea (MEEL, 1867), it was found that they include a new genus. This is described as Ilopsyrhynchus, with I. iteinus n. gen., n. sp. from central Nevada selected as the type species.
