Abstract
Initial results of morphological mapping of the Dutch shoreface and adjacent shelf area are presented. This information is combined with lithological and hydrodynamical data, and the geological history of the area to present hypothesis on: 1) the development of the shoreface in relation to sand transport, and 2) the relation between shoreface-connected ridges and recent coastline behaviour.
