Course Scope

Biodiversity_Next is a joint conference by The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), a new pan-European Research Infrastructure initiative (DiSSCo),  the national resource for digitized information about vouchered natural history collections (iDigBio), Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities (CETAF), and Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG).

LifeWatch ERIC and the ENVRIplus H2020 project are organising their joint International Summer School "Data FAIRness in Environmental & Earth Science Infrastructures: Theory & Practice" which will take place in Lecce (Italy), from 1 to 5 July 2019.

LifeWatch ERIC is organising its first Scientific Community Meeting, aiming at gathering its scientific Community of scientists and developers to trigger and boost the discussion on the most promising lines of development of science on four key themes: (1) Biodiversity and Ecosystem Theory, (2) Marine Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning and Services, (3) Data Analysis and Modelling, and (4) Disruptive Technologies.

During this workshop, members of the LifeWatch VLIZ team gave an introduction to OBIS, WoRMS and the Darwin Core: OBIS data format, and a training session on the importance of quality control and how to QC your own data.

The EMODnet Ad Hoc Technical Working Group supports the technical implementation of the EMODnet Central Portal. This is a closed meeting, restricted to EMODnet project partners and relevant stakeholders (such as LifeWatch).

The 1st SeaDataCloud training workshop took place at UNESCO/IOC Project Office for IODE, Oostende, Belgium.

Two similar sessions of 3 days were scheduled on:
