55th European Marine Biology Symposium

After 34 years and for the second time in history, European Marine Biology Symposium (EMBS) comes again to Poland on 19 – 23 September 2022. It is hosted by the University of Gdańsk, in the modern building of the Faculty of Law and Administration in the Baltic Campus in Gdańsk-Oliwa.

No less than three oral presentations will cover components of the LifeWatch Species Information Backbone:

• Fifteen years of the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS): where are we, and what will the next decade bring? (Leen Vandepitte)

• The LifeWatch Species Information Backbone: connecting information on taxonomy, biogeography, ecology, genetics and literature (Stefanie Dekeyzer)

• EurOBIS and EMODnet Biology (Ruben Perez Perez)
