1st Working Meeting LifeWatch-ERIC Data Centres

The LifeWatch-ERIC Service Centre organised its 1st Metadata, Controlled Vocabularies and Ontologies Working Meeting in Lecce, from 12 to 13 November 2018.

Moving from existing approaches implemented in the National Nodes, the meeting wants to set a roadmap for a common strategy on metadata, thesauri and ontologies within the LifeWatch-ERIC community and in accordance with the FAIR principles.

Each LifeWatch National Node is invited to present an annual report review of their activities in 2017-2018.

This course focused on integrated coastal zone management, in the sense that it needs to take on board the ecological, environmental, social and economic aspects of managing a coastal area or zone. The course provides an overview and hands approach on GIS applications necessary towards integrated coastal zone management including the data acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation of spatial data. Participants developed and built their own case study and made a short presentation at the end of the training course.

During the Chelonia Training Workshop 2017 (14-19 May), the application of C-PODs in the LifeWatch observatory was elaborated in Cornwall, United Kingdom.
