Hard-substrate monitoring by using an Artificial Reef Monitoring Structure (ARMS) was conducted in a pilot-study by Flanders Marine Institute in the BPNS in 2021. Six ARMS were were recovered from three locations. At C-Power three frames were recovered from CD-78, CD-89 and BC-89. Two frames were recovered from Birkenfels. Finally one frame was recovered in the framework of Coastbusteers in front of De Panne, The ARMS were sampled, analysed through metabarcoding and results were compared with traditional monitoring techniques in order to demonstrate the improvement of applying novel techniques.
