Abstract
The survival and growth rate of four common species of gorgonians in relation to the water temperature were monthly followed for one year (2003-2004) trough a field experiment on explants. During the studied period, Mediterranean experienced an important thermal anomaly characterized by warm waters (24°C) reaching unusually 30m depth. The most affected species was Paramuricea clavata.
