Abstract
Ampelisca toulemonti and A. spooneri are described from Sea Iroise and Bay of Douarnenez (Northeastern Atlantic Ocean). Ampelisca toulemonti, like A. typica, is characterized by a first antenna reaching up to the pedoncule of the second antenna; second antenna about 3/4 of the body; urosome segment 1 with a rather high dorsal keel, posterior oblique board overflowing on the urosome segment 2; postero-inferior corner of epimeral plate 2 with a little tooth and last pair of uropoda with a row of bristles on the outer board of the inner rami and a row of spines on each board of the outer rami; telson with a row of dorsal denticles on each lobe. Ampelisca spooneri, like A. brevicornis, is characterized by a first antenna reaching up to the fourth joint of peduncle of antenna 2; urosome segment 1 with a cockscomb dorsal keel, posterior board overflowing on the urosome segment 2; postero-inferior corner of epimeral plate 3 sinuous with a little tooth. Descriptions of these two new species are given with a comparison to their nearest relative species.
