Abstract
An important collection of Annelida Polychaeta of the genus Spio has been collected on the subtidal fine sand community from the western part of the English Channel. Two species, Spio decoratus identified for the first time in the English Channel and Spio martinensis, have been identified. In the literature, confusion between three species: S. decoratus, S. martinensis and S. filicornis, which was considered as a cosmopolitan species, has existed. Particular attention shall be necessary to identify these Spio species.
