Description

"Understanding Mediterranean bycatch of vulnerable Blue Shark (Prionace glauca) and testing mitigation – a collaborative approach” project ran from 2017 to 2023 with the aim to improve the monitoring and mitigation of the incidental fishery capture (bycatch) of the vulnerable blue shark (Prionace glauca), which represents a key conservation and sustainability issue in the Mediterranean Sea. The project had a regional scope and implemented field activities in the central Adriatic Sea, where 19 P. glauca were tagged with popup sPat and MiniPad satellite tags for an average of 1.5 month per individual.
