Description

The River Severn receiver array has primarily used coarse-scale acoustic telemetry (69 kHz) to understand the movements, habitat use and survival of twaite shad, sea lamprey, barbel, bream, Atlantic salmon smolts, pike and zander to inform catchment management and species conservation. Beyond this ETN project, it has also studied fine-scale movements of fish using positioning arrays (69 and 180 kHz), predation (digestion sensors) and fish pass performance (PIT telemetry).
