Abstract
    Two systems for the quick removal of the viscera of mackerel, trout, spurdog and spotted dogfish were devised and tested. A first machine consists of a vacuum-tank connected to a vacuumpump and a suction head, The vacuum-tank is eliminated in a second installation and a peristaltic pump is used. Both systems remove the viscera or the rests of these quickly and effectively; at the same time the fish are washed thoroughly.
