Abstract
During a trip made on board the German research vessel Anton Dohrn from 1 to 18 July 1975 in the northern North Sea, I had the opportunity of recording seabirds. Observations were made from the bridge for one-hour or half-hour periods (in quarter-hour fractions). Since there was no fishing activity on board, the presence of the ship probably did not modify much the distribution of seabirds. The position of the recording stations is presented in Fig. 1. The ship is either stationary or moving at a speed of about 12 knots.
