Abstract |
Cantharus melanostoma (G. B. Sowerby I, 1825) is studied. This actually well-known species appears to consist of two morphotypes, with the shells from the eastern part of the range being conchologically different in sculpture and shape from the shells known from India and Sri Lanka. This eastern morphotype is hereby described as Cantharus orientis sp. nov. |
