| Abstract |
In egg masses of the common whelk, Buccinum undatum, the author found amongst other common organisms, 3 empty but fresh looking specimens of the top shel1, Gibbula tumida (Montagu). One specimen was found on 13 January 1999 in an egg mass col1ected on the beach of Bray-Dunes. Two other specimens were col1ected in one egg mass out of 220 washed ashore on 2 and 3 February on the beach between the French Belgium border and Lefferinckoucke in France. On both the specimens fresh looking colonies of the southern bryozoan Hippopodinelia lata (Bush) were present. |
